Roadmap Inclusion Initiatives

The goal of our initiatives is to support creatives from various groups and backgrounds whose voices and experiences have been traditionally underserved by the entertainment industry.

Through our various inclusion initiatives, Roadmap has helped dozens of writers land representation with top management companies and agencies including Industry Entertainment, A3, Kaplan Stahler, Anonymous Content, Story Driven, Kaplan Perrone, Echo Lake Entertainment, Good Fear, Heroes & Villains, and more. Through other initiatives like our monthly Diversity Initiative, Roadmap has made intros for writers who went on to get staffed on series at Netflix, ABC, and FOX, and set up projects all over town!

Please read before submitting your form:

  • If you previously applied to any of our inclusion initiatives in the past, you may reapply with a different script or the same script only if it has undergone a deep rewrite.
  • Each initiative has specific criteria for applying. After selecting the initiative you are applying for, please review the unique submission guidelines.
  • You may apply to multiple initiatives but you MUST submit a different script for each and will be required to submit a separate form for each.

How we are reviewing material:

For these initiatives, we will be initially reviewing your bio, logline(s), and the first 10 pages of your script. Submissions that rank highly after this initial round will then be evaluated further by other members of the Roadmap team. Due to the expected volume, we will be reviewing all of the submissions over a period of several months.

Communication from Roadmap:

If we feel your material is ready to market, we will notify you that we will be distributing your material to execs on our roster and let you know who those execs are. We will only contact writers we feel we can help market at this time. Our review process may take several months depending on the number of submissions received. Writers will be contacted on a rolling basis. There is no need to contact us to follow up.

Please feel free to spread the word to those in your writing community who could benefit from any of these initiatives!

For which initiative are you applying?

Amplifying AAPI Voices Initiative

In light of the recent incidents of hate, violence, and discrimination towards the Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) community, Roadmap stands in solidarity with our AAPI writers to #StopAsianHate. We believe one of the best vehicles in the fight against racist violence is to promote awareness and understanding of one another. For too long, AAPI voices have been ignored, silenced, or undermined in society at large—and especially in Hollywood. At Roadmap, we want to do our part to amplify more AAPI voices who can help us all understand each other a little bit better so we can realize there is more that binds us than divides us.

Please note, this initiative is open to writers of the AAPI community ONLY.

To be considered, please submit an original screenplay, logline, and your writer bio below.

Empowering & Lifting Up BIPOC Voices Initiative

At Roadmap, we want to continue to do our part and build off of the work we've done over the past five years to empower and lift up more Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) voices who can help us all understand each other a little bit better. We believe one of the best vehicles in the fight against racism is to promote awareness and understanding of one another. The voices of BIPOC writers have for too long been ignored, minimized, and undermined in society at large—and especially in Hollywood. We continue to stand in support of our diverse community of creators to help share the voices and experiences of persons of color.

Please note, this initiative is open to writers of the BIPOC community ONLY.

To be considered, please submit an original screenplay, logline, and your writer bio below.

Turbocharging Competition Placements Initiative

Further to our efforts to help more writers, we are excited to introduce our Turbocharging Competition Placements Initiative. Just landed a clutch competition placement but have no idea how to leverage it to launch your screenwriting career? This initiative is for you!

To be considered, please submit an original screenplay, logline, and your writer bio below.

Lifting LGBTQIA+ Voices Initiative

Over the past 5 years, Roadmap Writers has prided itself on running initiatives to help spotlight writers from underrepresented communities. Our LGBTQIA+ Initiative previously ran in June to celebrate Pride Month. Roadmap remains an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community and has previously collaborated with companies including Artists First to advocate for these voices.

Please note, this initiative is open to writers of the LGBTQIA+ community ONLY.

To be considered, please submit an original screenplay, logline, and your writer bio below.

Indigenous Peoples' Initiative

Roadmap stands in support with all creatives who represent the Indigenous Peoples' community. For too long, these voices have been ignored, silenced, or undermined in society at large—and especially in Hollywood. At Roadmap, we want to do our part to amplify more voices and stories of Indigenous Peoples' who can help us all understand each other a little bit better.

Please note, this initiative is open to writers of Indigenous Peoples' communites ONLY.

To be considered, please submit an original screenplay, logline, and your writer bio below.

Supporting Support Staff Initiative

Roadmap Writers wants to extend a helping hand to those writers working as writers' assistants, writers' PAs, showrunner's assistants, researchers, or script coordinators. Eligible writers are those who have been employed in this position in the past 12 months or are currently working on a show.

We recognize that being right in the thick of the action can sometimes create challenges to spotlight your own writing. The goal of this initiative is to help boost the material of writers who support many of the shows we all know and love.

Please note, this initiative is open only to the aforementioned support staff who have worked on a show in the last 12 months.

To be considered, please submit an original screenplay, logline, and your writer bio below.

Thriving at 50+ Initiative

Roadmap is excited to announce our Thriving at 50+ Initiative open to women writers aged 50+!

To be considered, please submit an original screenplay, logline, and your writer bio below.

Enabling Disabled Writers Initiative

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, so we are excited to introduce our Enabling Disabled Writers Initiative open to all writers with a visible or invisible disability (including the neurodiverse).
